September Dev Update (8/1 – 8/5)

I hope everyones September is off to a great start! This update is a few days behind as things on the work front have been pretty hectic lately.

I had a chance to make some progress this weekend and I’m getting close to having the edit/delete functionality for the server list complete. I also managed to add a bunch of unit tests over the weekend for the Server data model and localStorage interactions.

I’ve pushed the login experience and the web socket update goals into next week to be more realistic about delivering them.

For now I’m going to focus on finishing up the edit server functionality, it’s super close!

    Will this technology only be available for servers in the cloud or can it also be utilized on a single server allowing for easy administration?

    There is a server agent (also open source) written in Node.js that you’ll be able to install via apt-get. The agent can run on any server local or cloud. Then you can manage as many servers as you want from the GUI via the web or desktop.

    Will the alpha release be available for the ubuntu 12.10 release? I am waiting on reformating my server for the 12.10 release and this will be a wonderfully handy tool for it.
